Leianne McNair spent 30 years working in Alberta's oil patch before a mental health crisis brought that chapter of her life to an unexpected close. Rather than let that be the end of her story, she spent the next three years writing her memoir, "I Need a Smoke" — a raw, honest account of how mental illness upended her life and the long road back to finding herself again. At 66, she's proof that reinvention doesn't have an age limit, and she's now channeling that same resilience into a new creative chapter with the launch of Bound in Time.

Creativity and photography have been part of Leianne's life for decades. Long before the digital age, she worked as a wedding photographer, and she's always felt that digital cameras took away some of the challenge — and the reward — of nailing that one perfect shot. Her film-era work earned her recognition and awards, and that same eye for a meaningful moment now shapes every book she creates.

Leianne is the mother of four and lives in Calgary, Alberta.
